The game is designed for 2 to 6 players and offers a strategic and tactical experience. Players can choose to join Whitebeard’s pirates to free Ace or side with the Marines to eliminate them. The objective is to find the key to Ace's handcuffs, free him, and help him escape, or to eliminate Whitebeard and Ace to win. Victory is determined by fulfilling mission goals or having the most characters on the board at the end of the game. The game captures the essence of large-scale battles and tactical decisions as players vie for control over Marineford.
